And a lot has been happening behind the scenes.
This release is about more than just a track; it's about setting things up properly for the future. That’s why having the track signed to a label like DT Weapons, with the support of Data Transmission, is so important - they get that you have to build the foundations right. So, we’ve been busy getting the HERATIKS house in order.

ADMIN
For the music nerds and fellow artists out there, this has meant getting properly organised. We’ve registered HERATIKS on MusicBrainz which is basically a massive open-source encyclopedia for music. It’s the data hub that feeds platforms like Spotify, Google and the BBC, ensuring that our tracks, remixes, and info are all linked up correctly across the web. It’s one of those crucial ‘behind the curtain’ jobs that makes a huge difference.
On top of that, we’ve been updating both our (Justin and James’s) accounts with PRS for Music and officially registering "Drop Tha Spot" in their system. For anyone who doesn't know, this is absolutely vital. It’s how songwriters and producers get paid royalties whenever their music is played, whether on the radio, in a club, or on a stream. It’s your career, right there. We’ve got a whole huge post coming soon on the ins and outs of PRS, because it’s something every artist needs to get their head around.
BBC Introducing!
With all the boring-but-essential admin done, we took the next step. The master has been uploaded and submitted to BBC Introducing with the MusicBrainz ID and PRS Tunecode all linked to the upload. Now, are we expecting to set the world on fire with it? We’re realistic. "Drop Tha Spot" is a pretty hard-hitting club track so it might be a bit much for daytime radio. But getting our name and our sound into the BBC system is a massive step. It’s about being ready. You never know who might be listening....and if you were with us when we played at IMMUNITY Festival you will heard our follow up that we played last... a waaaay more radio friendly, deep house track which features the unreal vocals of our friend Harrisen Larner-Main who was on The Voice back in 2019. Harrisen's blind audition, where he performed "Have a Little Faith in Me" got him on Olly Murs' team where he made it to the Knockout Rounds so we are so excited for those who haven't heard our work with Harrisen but that's a bit further down the line!
Every track uploaded goes to a local show first, which for us means the brilliant team at BBC Introducing in the South West. You've got to think they're open to a banger, right? With Bristol's rich heritage in dance music echoing through the whole region, our hope is that a proper club track will find it's way through all the other fantastic music being uploaded! It’s a huge first step but getting a spin on your local show is a massive milestone in itself!
And from there? Well, that’s where the dream scenario comes in. The local shows are the gatekeepers who pass the best tracks up to the national programmes. That brings us to the big hope: that the track catches fire in the South West and finds its way to Jaguar and her BBC Introducing Dance show on Radio 1. She is such a champion for new electronic music, and if she heard it, loved it, and decided to support it… well, to have her PLAY IT would be absolutely unreal.

So yeah, we’re excited. The track is done, it sounds incredible, and the first steps have been taken to send it out into the world.
We'll post about Pre-Sale details on our socials so stay locked for that because every bit of support means the world to what we're trying to build! It all goes live on August 6th available everywhere you can stream or download music and we can’t wait!
